In addition to the table-top Moonbase model larger individual buildings were built for close-ups (and explosions, as in Force Of Life, War Games and other episodes). The buildings are approximately 1/24 scale. None of these correspond to the buildings of the table-top model.
This round building was first used around the Nuclear Disposal Area 2 in Breakaway. It was actually built in two scales (this being the larger version). It reappeared amongst other Alpha buildings later in the series. |

The smaller round building is seen here with one of the many standard buildings, which began to be used extensively from Guardian Of Piri onwards. |

Another building, before and after cleaning. You can see it in the explosion shot below (on the left). |

Two buildings. The left one is on the right below (with the round house on top).

Martin Bower built this distinctive building for Year 2. |

This building was used in Bringers Of Wonder as the atomic fuel store. The red door is painted on; close up you can see it is not actually a door (it was probably one of the anonymous Alpha buildings redressed for this episode). |

Nuclear Waste dome 3 from Bringers Of Wonder.![]() |

The rear of the dome. The structures on the extension (one is missing) are the bases of Airfix Saturn V rockets with an EMA dome. |

What's the large round wooden thing under the waste dome? It's the base for the Main Mission tower. |

The transference dome from Journey To Where is also seen in other second series shots. It is remarkably similar to a construction on the Daria in Mission Of the Darians (i.e. a salvaged model section). |
