Production GuideThe This Episode sequences in the Year One Titles are an exciting montage of visual highlights. Occasionally alternate takes and cut scenes were included, providing a brief glimpse of what the episodes could have been. Breakaway and Matter Of Life And Death have a high proportion of shots different to the finished episode. Other episodes have only a few shots, shown here.
Alan's Eagle flying low over the lunar hills (the episode shows a more distant view). Explosion by gravity tower (a different version of Alan's laser strike). The Alphans fall over as the asteroid shifts (the episode shows a wider view from the opposite side).

A different view of the Phoenix, and two slightly different special effects from those in the episode
Two alternate takes from when Alan contacts Main Mission; the group shot is very close to the episode, but the Kano shot is completely different
