Borg,

I think most people that check out the link to the forum, will probably have at least a passing interest in S1999. I think our chanllenge as members is to make sure it's an appealling forum to join and participate in.

How do we promote this forum?

Enter and sign in. Invite a friend. Pick up a "massive promo brochure" in the lobby. I have a small chunk of one of those things in my collection.

I think there are lots of "lurkers" here. I used to be one. But all of you shameless 1999 fans forced me to come out. tongue.gif

I blame it all on OLA and Capt. Phil. tongue.gif

Maybe if there were some more 'active' 1999 projects out there, that would spark some interest perhaps?

I know there seemed to be lots happening 3-5 years ago but they have either frozen or disappeared and there are now only a few things happening these days.

Just my thoughts I'll creep off back to my hole now wink.gif

I am just newly assigned to the Space1999.net forum. smile.gif

I've owned all the A&E episodes for quite a while. I NEVER get tired of watching and re-watching episodes, and do so at least once a week.

I was watching an episode, End of Eternity, this evening and decided to do a search for "space 1999" and found you all! biggrin.gif

All this time I thought, and was told by others, that I was the only one interested in this great Sci-Fi series from my childhood...so much so that I had considered putting my 2 smaller steel Eagle toys (with disconnecting mid-sections and magnetic nuclear waste pods) which I've had since I was a kid, and one larger Eagle (with action figures) on eBay. Now that I see there are so many others as interested as I am I think I will continue to keep and cherish them. smile.gif

I'm off to explore..thanks!

Welcome. There are more internet resouces out there, too. Among many, you may wish to check out Yahoo's Online Alpha:
http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/OnlineAlpha/

Eagle Transporter for model nuts, but they do have great insights into the physical make-up of Eagles and occasionally Alpha itself:

and the grand-daddy of them all, The Catacombs:

Actually, The Catacombs does a very good job of that at the Cyber Museum section of the website:

http://www.space1999.net/~catacombs/cyberm...seum/index.html

especially under the link for 'The Work of Today's Alphans.' I just tossed out a few I don't recall seeing there, although the link to Online Alpha link is kind of hidden on the the contact page.

But I agree a FAQ's link page on the opening menu here would have been a great help when I was first surfing the web to find out about the available goodies out there.
