I will confess that Space:1999 got me in trouble a couple of times as a kid. One was the new word I learned from the show at 9 years old: "Dammit". You know, John Koenig's favorite epitath. I picked up on it and got my mouth washed out with soap a couple of times. My mom wasn't happy when I told her where I heard it. After that, each time I'd say it, she'd drag me to the sink and say, "Okay, Koenig, time to clean up your vocabulary" or something like that. It's funny now... It wasn't the only time the show got me in trouble with my mom either... |

My mom & dad never had a problem with me watchin' it. My dad was the one who told me all about it. Believing that I might enjoy this "new show". And I did. It's the first show that made a fanatic... |

My dad told me to watch it too while we were bored at Grandmas. My mom had a problem with after watcing New ADam New Eve, I asked her what God did God pray to? She didn't like that, but for me at 9, it was an intriging idea. |
