Nice job, Patrick! I have to admit though that I found the story to be, uh, humorous. I don't know why but I guess I just did...I don't think it was the German to English use of words translation...I just could not take the story seriously.. |

thanks! yeah, it was an odd-ball story. I wasn't sure what to make of it. It seemed serious at times, but elements of it were just too freakin' goofy! A planet that's shaped like a sponge? Maybe. A plant growing wildly out of proportion to any food it's been given? uh, not likely. And then there were the new characters: Kanders was mostly professional, except for all the taunting. But there was also that idiot Zalavian! What a nut job! It's not clear why the plant made him go totally psycho. And it also seemed like the plant telepathically called to Zalavian later on, maybe? And that's why he blindly walked right into the plant at the end? I was sorely tempted to alter Koenig's dialogue near the end to be: "Zalavian! You jackass! What are you doing here?" It seems like the plant ate his legs off possibly, but Helena's dialogue at the end kept flip-flopping. Is he going to be ok? or not? |

Hello fellow Alphans, Just wanted to let everyone know that I have made another update to my site. I completed the translation of the Zack Fortnightly #25 (1977) Space:1999 comic and have posted it to my Mondstation1999 website. it is a truly bizarre adaptation of Dragon's Domain go to Zack #25 I've also added some more gallerys of previous German issues. -Patrick |

Nice job, Patrick. That version was different..lol. The idea of Dixon not being a bad guy was unique though. I think it would have presented better without the pictures. In the comic book format it doesn't work because of the abrupt and incoherent changes of the set from one frame to the next. It goes back to a past scene but its not really the past...its the present on Alpha (I think..). Anyway, it was interesting to see a different interpretation... |

thanks! that was truly a bizarro world version of Dragon's Domain. Dixon as a geneticist living on the Moonbase.... Ultra as a planet the Alphans encounter on their travels... strange, strange, strange! I've also looked at the AMZ Italian novelization of the episode. It too seems to be an altered version - although that one at least keeps the Ultra Probe mission as occuring prior to Breakaway! I'm not sure why the artist didn't keep the characters looking consistent from panel to panel and obviously just copied the pictures exactly from the episode without alteration. The very next issue was Testament of Arkadia, and he did a great job eliminating the silver jackets worn throughout the show (for whatever reason) and was able to kept it all self-consistent. I may tackle the Full Circle comic next - it's another strange one! the cavemen talk! |

AH HAHAHAHA!!! The Cavemen talk?!?! <snicker>...It sounds worse than anything FF could have done to give it a Y2 lobotomy. Hey, yeah, now you've got me curious. I encourage you to translate that one. I'm anxious to see it! |
