Which 1999 toys and models did you have and which do you still have?

1.) Dinky Toy Eagles -- Transport and Freighter, Hawk (blew it up with fireworks smile.gif)
2.) Walkie-Talkie commlocks
3.) Eagle, Moonbase, Alien Car model kits
4.) The Parker Brothers Game

Still own the Dinky Toy Eagles

As a kid I had the 2 foot long Eagle by Mattel, which the for the longest time was my favorite toy. I also had the dinky Eagle and the board game. I even had a copy of one of the comics published by Charlson Comics (long out of buisness now). I also had the model of Moonbase Alpha. I even had the handheld laser pistol. Unfortunately all these things got totalled by my mother who got drunk one night and fell asleep with a cigerette in her hand. Fortunately no one was hurt (this was back in 1977) but all my toys melted or suffered water damage. Talk about deep depression. All my Micronauts and Shogun Warriors also bit it along with about fifteen Star Wars action figures. Oh well.....they gave me a lot of joy when I was nine and ten.

Sorry to hear about your 1999 toys, Validus! That must have been horrible!

I remember that big Eagle....a friend of mine had it and it was very cool!!

I had one of those stun guns too. Forgot about that until you mentioned it.

Well, guess what my father found in his attic recently and brought it to me....my Space:1999 2 foot Mattel Eagle. It is missing the doors but otherwise it is in great shape (it even has all 4 "grey" engine bells)...I could take a digital picture of it if you like and post it here...if I can figure out how to post pictures....

I had that big 2-foot Eagle. It remains my favorite toy ever, even to this day. biggrin.gif I also had the Mattel Moonbase Alpha Command Center playset with the "Starflash Computer" in the center, and the action figures of Koenig, Russell and Bergman that accompanied it. Memories. . . .

I had a model Eagle and two comic books. This was all I could ever find where I lived.

Still have the comic books.

As a kid I had a Commander Koenig and Dr. Russell action figures, I had the giant Mattel Eagle, the View-Master slides, the Trading cards, the Colorforms set and the Stun Gun...the only thing I have left is the View-Master slides...and one trading card....

I have recently re-purchased the Mattel Eagle, three Eagle models, and two Moonbase Alpha models.

Well, I'm very glad to have found this thread. I have both the Dinky Eagle's, Transport and Freighter, Mattel figures loose & mint, Stun Guns (Flashlight Projector, Water Gun), Utility Belt Set, Lunch Box (who doesn't have that), Book's & Magazines, Centuri Model Rocket Starter Kit, various Model Kit's, Mattel Alpha Control Room & Eagle 1 Spaceship complete.
But the pride & joy of my collection is the Mattel Vertibird Flying Eagle.

I always wondered- can the flying Eagle actually "fly" or is it a rip-off?

I think the vertibirds really flew. They were tethered to the power unit so they couldn't fly away but the prop produced some lift and the eagle toy under the prop is a plastic shell so it's very light.

I think these Verti-birds are doubly collectable as the vertibird line of toys is collectable on it's own, and of course the space 1999 one is also collectable!

Like the Mego figures that were released in the UK. There are Mego enthusiasts all over the world and the Space 1999 release is collectable to both 1999 collectors and Mego collectors.

I think my favorite collectables that I've obtained over the years would be (This maybe is a different thread as this is a toy thread) is a partial complete collection of all the books. I just completed the German language novels and I have pretty much all the hardcovers and paperbacks (UK & US). I have a few of the Italian versions (The picture books) but I haven't made a real effort to get the rest. No luck with the Japanese versions yet.

I was also thrilled to get the UFO and 1999 Japanese Town Mook books last year. Right before 1999 collecting fever really hit I got my hands on two Dinky eagles, one with the nuclear canisters and the other with the pod.

The toys I have from times long ago include, some of the novels, pictures off the MPC eagle box (But not the model) the set of Donruss cards and the 1977 calendar. Nothing else survived my early adulthood. I did have a Mattel eagle my father gave me from a yard sale (He must have paid $1 for it!) and i foolishly traded it for some tapes or CD's. I did get my hands on another years later and I've hung it from my library ceiling.
