Martin: Question was raised on the UFO list -- the old "was the Space:1999 Hawk an updated Interceptor"? I said that was an old chestnut that had been debunked -- but don't know where to find the supporting information. Do you have that info on your Catacombs site? |

The Hawk only appeared in War Games- and Moonbase Alpha didn't have them. In fact, there is no explanation of why Earth ever had warships. The UFO Interceptor explanation was invented by David Hirsch in Starlog for this article: Starlog Space Report- the Hawk So it's fan fiction, not canon. Martin |

Martin: Thanks. We couldn't trace back where the story behind the Hawk came from -- someone also found the Hawk blueprints reference, so it must have been from that. Anthony |
