Breakaway
Convention
1999/09/10-13

On September 10-13, 1999, ~300 fans and a number of Guests of Honor gathered to celebrate Space: 1999 and the Breakaway date (September 13, 1999) that it had used in its first episode. It was perhaps the largest convention, at least in quite a few years, from what I heard. It was held in Culver City, near Los Angeles, California, United States.

This page previously held a list of memories by the author and other fans, written within a few weeks of the event. However, on 2009/09/13, ten years afterwards, the editor has moved that page to the first link below, and is now posting, apparently for the first time, items meant to posted back in 1999.

It is hard to believe so much time has flown by, but my memories of that gathering are still fond.
