I can't speak for anyone else or any mail you may have gotten privately.
I said "I'm sorry but this just sounds like a hoax." I don't think it's
the same as saying "You are a liar." I was just expressing a some
skepticism for the reasons stated by others - mainly there are many fans
here and nobody heard of an animated series. Nobody likes their emotions
being played with. I was initially very excited when I read your mail.
I waited a few days to see if anyone else had heard anything before I
sent my message Later on in my e-mail I apologized in advance if events
were to prove me incorrect. This topic is like beating a dead horse so
I'll let it drop.

Another great job done. It was simply awesome walking around the Eagle

Does anyone know when the AVI for the bad guys (dragon, etc.) will be

Hi gang!

Since he's at work Jerry asked me to forward this message.

Would any one on the list know for how much goes a Japanese walking
Koenig doll? He just phoned a guy who has one and want to sell it. Has
any one already seen one? The guy told Jerry it's very detailed and the
resemblance with Martin Landau is stunning!

Sure would be nice to have a little John walking around the house! :)

Thanks,

Take care,

Hi David,

Sorry, but I think there is some confusion about two different Mikes on
this group. The only posts I have made regarding the animated series
have been:

1. the one that tried to explain to the irate guy who has the animated
series that the group as a whole is a fairly considerate bunch

2. the one that said "hoaxer"="liar".

If there is another Mike about (sorry but I don't remember names unless
they belong to people who are consitutive jerks), then please remember
the distinction.

I don't use nasty language ("Neo-Nazi", etc), nor flame people for all
to see.

In the future, I'll sign "nice Mike" or "benign Mike" or something like
that.

A little more on our friend and sometimes fellow listmember Johnny Byrne
A recent book called the Nth Doctor covers several of the attempts to get a
Doctor Who movie made. Two of these attempts the scriptwriter is Johnny Byrne.
One is from 1988-90 titled The Time Lord
the other (And I've seen a movie poster for this one) is called Last of the
Time Lords from 1991.

The book brings us from the last Sylvester McCoy episode to the beginning of
the Fox Doctor Who movie from last year.

The Nth Doctor is by Jean-Marc Lofficier isbn # 0-426-20499-9
I picked up a copy at my local borders bookstore although I'm sure its
available everywhere including over the net at amazon.com

Subject: Space1999: Pulling the wool over your eyes

Hi all

There was never a 1999 Animated series. To truely verify this Someone check
this out D.Hirsh from starlog did the original Tech Manual. He currently
writes the Audiolog section in Starlog. At the end of each one there is an
E-mail address where he can be reached. Someone E-mail him and ask him if
there were ever any extra pages made for the Tech Manual, and if he has ever
heard of an animated series. Funny no mention of the animated series in 20
years. Not even on the Making of 1999 video by Fanderson. It dosen't
exist.Althought after thinking about it,what a perfect way to continue the
legacy in cartoon form.

I hope there will never be a remake of the series in movie form..(with
different people playing the roles). In animated form i think that 1999 would
catch on and they could blend Year 1 and Year 2 characters together.

Movie remakes suck in my opinion. But let's have fun with this premise anyway.

If there ever was a movie made i would have to go with these choices

Commander K = Mel Gibson
Doc R = Michelle pfeiff???? Damn it! Catwoman in the second Batman flick.
Prof B = George Carlin (laugh if you wish but i can see him pullin it off.)
Alan C = Kurt Russel Rutger Hauer, Kevin Bacon, Or as a comical touch Chris
Farley, Imagine those Eagle Crashes :-) )
Paul M = Tom Selleck, Ray Liota or Bill Paxton
David K = Eddie Murphy ( in a serious role ) or Morgan Freeman
Commish S = Tommy Lee Jones or Robert Blake...Check out Money Train and tell
me he woul not be great for the role.
Commander G = Paul Sorvino or Joe Pesci

Grasping at straws casting section

I would also see Howard Stern as capt Zantor. Sandra Bullock Dana Delaney or
Joan Severance as Maya (Excuse me i had to wipe the drool from my chin).
And Steve Segal as Tony V

You know what! This is gettin out of hand, Good Night.

You are right. There was some confusion on my part. I thought that you
and the guy that let fly with the Nazi crack were one and the same. And
I apologize for my mistake. Reviewing my mail I notice that there are
two different e-mail addreses but a person can have 2 accounts so I
didn't think about it as carefully as I should have. Lesson learned.

However, I was responding to the "hoax = liar" part of the message. I
don't feel I called the guy a liar. I just expressed a little skepticism
and said what many others said: Namely, how come no one else never heard
of an animated series. I did apologize in advance if I was proven
incorrect. Since "epithet-hurling" Mike has presumably been granted his
wish and unsubscribed I suggest we all just put this unfortunate episode
behind us.

I hadn't heard of it either, until the first post on the subject was made.
I checked with a friend of mine in Australia and he does tell me he remembers
such...evidently it was -only- aired there and only for one season (if that
long)

Subject: Space1999: Animated Series: the TRUTH?!

i think this mystery can very easily be solved, as i myself was confused at
first, back in 1976:

the bloke in australia is thinking of second season!

when i first saw second season, i too at first thought it was a cartoon!
all the bright colors/slapstick/silly monsters/comic relief and cartoon
plots, etc.

so maybe this fellas memories are just a bit clouded and confused after 20
years.

i mean, it IS possible.
