Grog here. I am not selling this, but I recieved an e-mail
on an old inquiry. Since my Eagle just arrived UPS
yesterday (thank you Good Guys, Bad Guys!) I thought
someone else should have the chance at owning one of
these. Here is the e-mail address for the Mattel Eagle,
figures, and original box for $100.00:

                       ToyHuntr@aol.com

They also still have a Fundimensions HAWK for $65.00.
Happy hunting all!!!

Hi Alphans!
I just got mIRC from a magazine cover CD, and wondered how I can connect
to Space 1999 IRC Chat sessions.

I'd appreciate any information going about times, servers it's held on,
addresses, channels, etc. (any ideas for an Alphan nickname?!) so that I
can join all of you IRC'ing Alphans.

Ian Wheeler asked about Jonathan Ward's Space: 1999 IRC.

The info on this is in the Cybrary. The Cybrary is at:

      http://204.188.13.27/welcome.htm

Then click on Resources/Space: 1999 on the Internet. There you will
also find specific instructions for using mIRC to get to the IRC channel.

Hi gang:

Please note, that this list is for people who enjoy Space:1999,
as well as the exchange of information and opinions regarding
our much beloved show.
Up until now, I have looked foreward to coming home from work and
retrieving the list's postings. Now, I aprehensively read through
the posts hoping not to come across nasty messages (*sigh*), ...how
disappointing.

Let's be a bit more civilized (not mentioning names in particular).

Date: Wed, 5 Mar 1997 17:29:46 -0500
Subject: Space1999: What's happening? (Upset Mode well and truly on)

Good evening all,

It's 2115 here in England, it's cold, wet, and despite a truly heart
warming letter from my beloved Ruth, and having Thunder's great new album
on in the background, I am well p'd off.

Now I try my hardest not to over react, keep a smile on my face, and be
pleasant to everyone, but every now and then something shows up which
raises my ire. It's not the comments about season 1 v season 2, or the
mention of porn films on our Mailing List, but the wholesale branding of
the list members as Neo-Nazis by one individual.

As something of a student of World War 2 (it being the start of the menace
of nuclear weaponry, which really interests me), I find it both incredible
and offensive that someone could call us Neo-Nazis. I've met some truly
wonderful people on this list, had a great time in discussions, and I don't
have a bad word to say about anyone on this list; so it is that I can't see
where the influence of Adolf Hitler is. Someone care to point it out to
me, please? I'm the (not so) long-haired rocker round here, so I'm used to
being looked on as an ill influence.

Branding an entire group of people with a remark like that shows a lack of
knowledge which is, to me, quite frightening. Unless you've suffered at
the hands of Nazi style extremists, survived the hell that was World War 2
and directly related events, or actually sat and listened to the stories of
survivors, be they soldiers, PoWs or victims of the horrors, then YOU DO
NOT HAVE ANY RIGHT TO CALL ANYONE a Neo Nazi.

You may well, Sir, feel that you have been somewhat mistreated by various
members of this Mailing List. All I have seen in the mail packets I have
received is a dose of quite natural scepticism in response to your claims,
along with invitations to prove that your claims are true. I know that
everyone on this list would love to discover that an animated series
exists, and you would be inundated, no doubt, with requests for video
copies if that were proven to be true.

I have an open mind on the subject of the animated series. I do not know
of one as yet, but I'll be well happy if it comes to light that it does
exist. Until then, I am a little sceptical. Sorry, but we've been messed
about before.

In the meantime, I ask you to retract your unpleasant wholesale branding of
this Mailing List as Neo-Nazis. I for one am very upset and annoyed at
this, as I feel that it is unwarranted and very offensive indeed. Your
retraction of that comment would go a long way toward proving to the cynics
on this list that you are a reasonable person who has a valuable
contribution to this list.

Here's a description for you: Short blond hair, wears a uniform with a tan
shirt at weekly gatherings, a right arm which twitches under certain
circumstances, and believes in one great leader.

Does this person sound like a Nazi to you? Well, it's actually yours
truly...

I had long hair, but to improve my chances of getting a decent job, it's
now been cut short. The tan shirt is a British Venture Scout shirt, my
right arm twitches now and then because of the sports injury to my right
shoulder, and the one great leader? Well, that's a little tongue in cheek,
because that refers to my childhood hero, former Essex and England captain,
Graham Gooch, who's still one of the finest batsmen in England, at the age
of 44.

Point taken?

Please e-mail me privately if you wish to discuss the validity of the
comparison of Online Moonbase Alpha with Neo-Nazis. Make sure you've read
up on Nazi atrocities before you do, though.

Somewhat less annoyed....

Both Robert and Mark's comments are well worth reading and absorbing. I
thought I had a limited social life and didn't get up to much outside, but
I think that perhaps we all should take time out to relax, put some
favorite music on and s-l-o-w down. Hey, let's do something rebellious:
have nothing to do with your computers for 24 hours!

This is the best discussion group I've had the pleasure to be involved in,
and there are many of you I consider good friends, but let's not forget
that e-mail isn't a perfect medium, folks. It took me a few months when I
first started using e-mail to realise that my (sick, twisted) sense of
humor just didn't transfer across to e-mail very well at all. I shudder to
think just how many people I upset or offended.

It's been said before and I'm going to say it again: Engage brain before
hitting both keyboard and send button. What seems okay up in the mind
sometimes isn't so good on the screen. Many of us are busy, and so don't
have time to spend hours re-reading our replies. I'm not suggesting we all
spend the same time as I do in front of a screen (You'd all end up like
me... :-) ), let's just try and be a little more considerate to our fellow
Alphans.

In the meantime, I can announce that a friend of mine has kindly
volunteered to scan in the covers of the UK Space:1999 videos. Right now I
have 22 of the 24, with the other two soon to follow. With luck, my German
Space:1999 sticker album will follow at some point. I hope that they will
be available on the Web pretty soon after they've been scanned, real life
permitting.

Marcy has said a definite "yes" to having the sticker album images, while
Robert has expressed something similar regarding the video covers. I'll
let you all know when each project is nearing completion. Any suggestions
or requests about the video covers (I've only got Vol 1 so far, a test
scan) are welcome. I think Vol1, the full size JPEG is about 750k. More
when progress is made.

Comments always welcome, and in the meantime...

Peace and love and rock n' roll,

Off topic delete now if not interested!

I know there have been several 1999 listmembers interested in obtaining
copies of the Starlost even though the show is the equivelent of a video
laxitive.

VCI home video has released 5 volumes of the Starlost and they are all
available for me to rent at my local video store. If anyone is looking for
this stuff now is the time to contact me since these are much better than
the copies I taped off the air. These are the two hour compilations of 2
60minute episodes. That leaves 7 episodes still unreleased.

I wouldn't have brought this to the list unless I know that people here have
posted about this before. To avoid making this post into a thread I suggest
anyone interested in this email me privatly OFF THE LIST so this little
pebble of a post will only make a ripple in our waters, not a wave.

Later!

Well, folks, we have three "put me on the list" requests.

I'm not against doing so few copies, but the price per copy will soar.
Anyone else interested in such a CD, let's hear from you...

Also, if anyone could provide a suitable quality record for this
transfer (for loan, not to keep), please let me know; you'll be fairly
compensated for the loan (some$ or a copy of the CD product, whatever's

Keep 'em coming!

Subject: Space1999: soundtrack titles

I have two coppies of the Space:1999 soundtrack and they are both identical
as far as the titles go the cover. I can't say that for the album itself due
to the fact that one of them has never been opened. Below is the list of
tracks that I have.

SIDE ONE:
1) Theme from Space:1999 (1:58)
2) Breakaway (1:26)
3) War Games (2:31)
4) Death's Other Dominion (2:45)
5) Dragon's Domain (1:42)
6) Collision Course (4:30)

SIDE TWO
1) Theme from Space:1999 (Reprise) (1:45)
2) Mission of the Darians (1:13)
3) Black Sun (3:14)
4) End of Eternity (1:16)
5) A Matter of Life and Death (2:47)
6) Earth Sound (2:01)
7) The Last Sunset (0:34)

Personally, I think Welbeck Music Corp - the publishers - may have gotten
confused as to the proper titles to the proper sounds. My big confusion is on
the title "Death's Other Dominion" I've never heard that music anywhere on
the show. In my opinion though, I think, besides the theme, that that's the
best song off the entire track. I think it has a reat beat.

any way, thats just my opinion,

I like the idea of that too. I happen to have an album in mint condition
because it's never been opened. However, I'm not willing to open it. I vowed
to myself never to open it until at least the year Sept 13 1999. I plan to
make a big show of it and to have several people around to see this happen. I
already have a top quality player that's rarely used. I have another that I
use reagularly for my other albums.

I don't want to sound like a jerk or anything but I do have my goals. If
anyone else can get this done then I would surly be interested in a copy.

Thanks, and please don't take this the wrong way,

        Hello, Fellow Alphans,

for any of you that are interested, I have the year one

soundtrack (not the RCA release) that is 90 minutes long,

straight from the master tapes, with the music cues intact!

It's recorded on a high grade TDK tape with Dolby C and comes

with a color cover and track listings. Anyone interested can

        e-mail me for more info.

I also have TWO 90 minute cassettes of year two!

Our own Catherine Bujold from right here at Online Alpha has made me a
BEAUTIFUL montage for the Virtual MBA site. I now have it displayed and it
will be permanent.
Thank you very much, Catherine!

        Hello, Mike (and all others)

I just happen to have in my possession a new cassette that

is taken from the RCA master cues from the Space:1999 album!

And I would be willing to forward you my master tape (Dolby C)

for transfer to CD, providing that I could get a copy. One

problem, or maybe a plus. This is from the rough cues taken

right from the master tapes, they still have the music cues on

them, and several other pieces of music that never made it to

the record, but it doesn't have the music fading into that

horrible space-wind music before and after each track. Now to

me, that's a plus, but maybe to someone else....? It has all

the tracks that are on the album, even the rock-n-roll music

that Barry Gray recorded for RCA that was never in the show,

but still had the feeling of the show (they just did that with

x-files) Anyway, what do you say?

My pleasure Jonathan, glad you like it! After a long period of alphan furniture hunting and pain in my
wrist and elbow caused by frenetic montage creation I had almost abandoned this activity and greatly
missed it! Good to play around with our beloved characters again! I'll try not to go overboard this
time and will restrain my self to 1 hour a day of mouse clicking :)

Take care all,

Catherine
