I have a nice scanner at work but don't have the

scan it and E-mail the scans to you.

My thanks to all of you that helped me clear up the problem
with my posts not showing up; whatever happened, they
are showing up again. Your unexpected support of free
speech/views/opinions on this list is greatly appreciated!
For a while their I thought I was all alone on this issue.
Sorry about Coldnorth dumping that post, but you can
breathe easy; I was just trying to ward off another argument
over Ruiz. Bob exited, got his last words in and broke most
of his own rules by insulting so many on his way out.
So I think we can agree he's gone, so can we get on with it?
Lets take a deep breathe now that the savior has cast
his children free...and lets all "stay in the moment",

As loathe as I am to get involved in such things, and, yes, I realize
that replying to this kind of thing just perpetuates it, this has gone
beyond the pale. A certain individual, either terribly immature or
simply seeking flames/arguments, has targeted a) anyone who disagrees
with them, and b) anyone else.

Threats, Mike? You're not being forced to do anything. You're
having a tantrum. Actually, John Fleming was MORE than polite to you,
which you deliberately decided to ignore.

Such threats are a much more grave error, Mike. This kind of thing

Tell me sometime how you run a legitimate business
couched in grey areas. Stop defending what you're doing
and let this thing pass like wind. I have no serious beef
with you or your business, I was just trying to stop you
from cramming Ruiz down my throat when I was asking
for help. Look at that post.

When people take this sort of thing too far its nothing
less than people trying to inflict morals and opinions on
everyone else.  I have a lot to say that isn't NICE or GOOD;
that doesn't mean it isn't true, or should be repressed.
I predict this country is not going to take much more of
this political correctness; when it comes out of all of us
it still smells the same.

If anyone has hurt your business, IT'S YOU. I didn't tell
you, or give you permission, to dump that on the list.
It was between us where it should have stayed.
It had nothing to do with the list; IT HAD TO DO WITH YOU!

The posts I've been reading have started to be about 1999
again; I don't want to divert this list away from that.
Please don't post me anymore Coldnorth; I'm dropping the
ball before it becomes a game.

Hi Pertti, and Everyone,

I understand your feelings towards the scientific inaccuracies present
in Space 1999. An explosion sizable enough to remove the moon from
its orbit intact, is inconceivable. At the speed of light, the amount of
time
it would take the moon to get to the next solar system, would leave
everyone on Alpha long since deceased. In order to enjoy the show,
I find myself having to come to the understanding that it is science
fiction,
and not science fact.

Look at Dr. Who, a very intellectual type science fiction show, with
compelling
and interesting stories. Trying to parallel Dr. Who with science fact on
the
other hand, would be absolutely inane. Perhaps the differences lie in
that
Space: 1999 presents itself as a more plausible situation to begin with.
A lunar base is a conceivable project, perhaps even in some of our
lifetimes.
Space shuttle transporters not completely dissimilar to the eagle, exist
today.
Even Space 1999's technology is not completely far fetched. But in spite
of all these similarities to science fact, the show is none the less
based
in science fiction.

Take Care Everyone

Originally named the 'Amazon', the brigantine that would amaze the world
for years to come was only renamed the 'Marie Celeste' after insurance
would not cover repair costs so the vessel was sold to an American, who
promptly renamed it.
The original vessel was built at Spencers' Island, Nova Scotia in 1861.
In 1872 she was found adrift in the Atlantic by the vessel Dei Gratia and
was summarily towed as salvage to port. No one was found aboard the Marie
Celeste and everything was as if all had departed in great haste. The crew
of the Dei Gratia--later at a court hearing--were even accused of tossing
the helpless crew members and passengers overboard.
  It is still a mystery!

As for spotting former Space celebs--caught Barry Morse as a faith healer
in 'Glory,Glory' this past weekend on A&E.

Sorry David, it wasn't intended as a crack. I just spent the last few years
studying new drugs for the treatment of baldness. It's my job, not my
preference. I get a little overloded at times. In real life, I've always
liked balding men. In fantasy, Sean Connery has always been a personal
favorite. So please don't take offense. It wasn't meant that way.

It's entitled B.A.P.S. (for "Black American Princesses) and is a comedy,
Martin is supposed to have a dancing scene with Ms. Berry as well. This
movie, I believe, is supposed to be released later this month.

In other movie news, Barbara Bain begins filming her new movie - her first in
six years - entitled "Animals" on location beginning Wednesday (tomorrow).
This film is an independent production and features several other big names
including Rod Steiger, John Turturro and Tim Roth. She is currently starring
in the Los Angeles stage production of "The Chairs" with Jeremy Lawerence,
which will be on hiatus while she is filming. Upon her return to L.A., she
will return to the play - which has garnered RAVE reviews - which will run
through the end of April.

I highly recommend "The Chairs" to anyone who can go see it! For more
information, please go to the Barbara Bain HomePage at:

Very astute observations on your behalf Marshall.

The series transcends mere existentialism into spiritualism on a regular
basis. In Black Sun, John and Victor actually converse with an entity,
that Victor
questioned to whether or not was God. Said entity stated that it thinks a

thought every two thousand or so of our years. From the year 1999, that
would put it's most recent previous thought at the birth of Christ.
Fantastically
epic, no?

In Another Time, Another Place, Victor expounds on the 'natural order to
things'
in response to John's questioning the illogical. This is another very
intriguing
episode. Are we to think after the two moons collided and time was
rectified,
that the existence of the other Alphans ended as the two severed
existences
became whole again? Or do the other Alphans still exist in an alternate
reality of sorts. This may be one of the aspects to the Alphans'
`significance
in space,` in that life was again brought back to a dead planet, and
they
are helping to populate what would have to be considered a
multidimensional universe.

Take Care

Yes, Barbara Bain is her mother. Barbara and Martin have another daughter,
Susan, who I believe is a few years older than Juliet.

Subject: Space1999: Curious about the list

I've been reading all the messages on the list and I notice that they
are usually by the same people. I was wondering how big the list
actually is and if it extends to other countries aside from England. I
was in one of the fan clubs and hope to join it again but until I do
it's nice to be able to talk to other people who enjoyed the show as
much as I did. Alison Braidwood asked a question about what happened to
the Alphans. I like to think that they got tired of searching planet
after planet and decided to stay on Alpha and adapt it to fit their
needs. They could have made an amazing city in the catacombs that would
have kept them safe. That way they would have hope of starting to live
a normal life. It's just a thought I had. Take Care. Kelly

Subject: Space1999: Eagle One or HDR?

Hi Pete,

Your post gave me a laugh, I snorted and thought,
uugh, that damn game, why did I ever sart this? I
truly need a laptop. I'm not home enough anymore to
work on it(but somehow, I know, I know I'll get it
done) :)

Here's exactly what I told Dave Walsh on Sun.
________________________________________________
Hi Dave,

The Eagle and hawk are finished, as well as the
moonbuggy, eagletank, Main Mission Tower, as well as
various Alpha Sections, launch pads, and some other
small shapes. My biggest task is completing all the
Monnbase buildings. The buildings that make up the
moonbase are much too large to allow MBA to be
designed as one shape, strange things happen to large
shapes in FST. Besides, I wanted the base to be able
to be destroyed in sections. Not one big Explosion.

I'd love to let you use the shapes, however, I want my
sim to be available first with these shapes, after
that anyone is welcome to use them. The Eagle was an
exercise in humility designing it due to the detail
needed to get a good shape. My Eagle currently is
version "E2" , they started as "a1, etc...." Each
time I made a major change I moved to the next letter.
Minor chnges were new numbers. By the way, what
system are you using, the Eagle hits 800+ poly's when
the high speed shape kicks in(the rocket bells have a
blast trail coming out) when one of these blows up it
really bogs my Pentium 133!

So Pete, there you have it. Janet Schill was so kind
as to sell me an Moonbase Model(please don't harass
her for one of your own<BG> ) and that makes designing
buildings a LOT easier. I wanted to have a beta by
Christmas, but missed that date. I'm not going to
give a new date, just hang in there. I sound like
damn Microsoft, eh? If you'd like I could send you a
few NEW screenshots in Private E-mail.

Now I hope you didn't want an HDR update? Thats
Maurizio's baby, and although we'd like to link the
two, we need to finish them first.

Goodnite and Later, Crater.

Subject: Space1999: Personal Flaming

Just got a disturbing e-mail from John Fleming,

WHAT THE HELL WARRANTED THAT PERSONAL ATTACK ON HIM?

First the list gets branded Neo-Nazi, then Robert leaves 'cos he's well
p'd off, now this.

Someone's got an attitude problem, and from what I've seen, it doesn't
look like it's Robert or John.

Just what is going on?

Looking for an acceptable answer to this...
