The Avengers DVD's (Zen has the first box, and the other three on order)
are VERY well done. Not much in the way of 'extras' but the transfer
quality is FABULOUS. WELL worth the money in Zen's 'umble opinion.

Err... as it happens, the Thunderbirds are ALREADY available on DVD in Japan.
There are two massive box sets, and they cost around $400 each.

As for series video here, once the market penetration of DVD really sinks
in, it's inevitable... Zen hopes. Zen is eagerly awaiting a goodly number
of series on DVD - Space: 1999 and UFO being very near the top of the list.

By the way... does anyone know which idiot is responsible for releasing
Battlestar Galactica's movie on DVD in MONO fer the love of the Goddess?

Its on Space: The Imagination Station Mondays and Fridays. I've watched
bits and pieces and it doesn't do much for me.

The conversion/viewing won't be a problem. I was just unsure as to
what Germany's video format was. Will have to look for on-line dealers of
the tapes. Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately, the BuffNet problems last week wiped out a lot of data,
including most of the archived digests. Since their backup system had been
making bad copies for a long time, without bothering to generate error
messages indicating that, BuffNet does not have a useable backup for all
the lost digests, and thus cannot recover the lost data.

Does anyone have the last few V2 digests to send to Jenny? Can you also
send them to me? I was also knocked off the list for a day or two.

Note that V1, #3-5 are actually from only a few days ago. The system
temporarily knocked the volume number down to 1, where it generated three
digests before being set to V3.

Good evening gang!
Clif, what words could we say that would change the course of the convention?
Either somebody wants to put in his presence at the con or he/she doesn't,
there are no two ways about it.
Also, I don't think there are any nervous school-girls on the list.
Obviously, in case anyone's missed it, we girls do tend to state our opinions
right, wrong, serious, funny, off-the-wall whatever. I don't believe for a
second that we are "nervous." :)
On that note, I will add something slightly off-the-wall and silly, after all
when have I ever managed to stay serious for very long?
My birthday's in September, ASAP after the con, I WANT some yr2 cast members
there! Pwetty Pwease, oh pwetty pwease! It would only be logical, you know.
Ok, I put in my birthday request but I rather doubt that it will help the
cause very much.
Time to go to sleep.
Hope everyone's week is going well!

Subject: Space1999: Alpha Child/Dorzak

I just got Alpha Child and Dorzak from Columbia House.

I think Alpha Child is one of my favorites, real creepy in places. I picked
up on a blooper in this episode. There is the scene when the boy uses
Bergman's comlock to open the door to let Koenig in. There is no door moter
sound effect laid over the opening and closing door. You can hear the actual
on set sound of the door sliding open and closed(it sounded like it was on
wheels). Barbera Bain's acting was more emotional that usual, a nice change.

Dorzak was an interesting if not too distinguished season 2 episode. If the
scriptwriters were on the ball, they would've had Maya visit Dorzak towards
the end with the hypno inhibitor installed in her so she wouldn't be
vulnerable to the powers that at that time they suspected he had. Also,
there was something missing from this episode that I couldn't quite put my
finger on... OH YEAH! It was Martin Laundau. It seemed strange that Tony
Verdeci was giving all the orders in this show and that's when I realized
that Com Koenig was nowhere to be found and not even referred to. Was
Laundau/Koening absent in other shows as well?

Mike

While surfing the web,I came across this picture of Gerry Anderson. Is
this the same Gerry Anderson we all know? Or someone else with the same
name? I've never seen him with hair. If it is,he was a fairly decent
looking chap. No wonder Sylvia married him. It's very sad Gerry wont go
to conventions or anything if Sylvia is going to be there. They've been
divorced since what,1976? Jeez, get over it already! Two people that
avoid each other that much,I think, deep down they really still love each

Divorced since 1981. Try this page and you will see him on the bottom. He
hasn't changed that much since the seventies.

http://www.best.com/~elusive/full_circle2d.html

Also try http://www.kikgraphics.demon.co.uk/fanderson.html

There is picture of him on his book.

If you noticed between the two pictures, he hasn't changed all that much.
Just a little punch under the neck and a little grey on the hair, what's
left.

Sylvia has aged but looks splendid and has aged gracefully.

Speaking of aging, all of the people involved in Space:1999 have aged but
still have that youthful glow in their faces and they keep growing in their
careers. I hope I am the same way many years from now. It will be weird
for me to see some of them that I met in 1978 in 1999. It feels like a
science fiction time travel movie! I felt the same way when I met David
Prowse once more after 25 years in 1997. No more biceps, but he still as
tall as the Empire State Building.
