The Catacombs Space Warp Episode Guide
Hangar sequence

click for larger image (99k) The hangar sequence in Space Warp gives a good look at the Moonbase Eagle hangars. The Eagle carrying cradle (seen in this shot from Breakaway) is used extensively in this sequence. There must be a complex network of overhead rails on which the cradles run. How does the rail travel through the opening door seen in this sequence, or the curtain plates that hang from the ceiling? The rail moves sideways on to the spine of the Eagle, then carries it forwards. An unused portion of this sequence in Seance Spectre shows it also moving sideways (to position it between the two Eagles). The cradle conveniently disappears when the Eagle launches- and there is no sign of a rail above either.

Note the Main Mission stairs visible through the window in the Space Warp scene. Evidently the Eagle hangars are pressurised, as crew do not need spacesuits (and fires burn fiercely!).

The smaller platform is seen more clearly in this shot from The Seance Spectre. It was previously seen as the alien elevator in A B Chrysalis.

A detached lab pod is on the opposite wall. In the sequence you can spot a laser tank just visible on the right through the opening door (it is seen more clearly later, as the Eagle flies backwards from the first explosion).

Below: The Eagle on the launch pad begins its descent to the hangars. Note the Eagle turns round between these shots. It is also a different Eagle to the one that arrives in the hangar- the surface shots are of the first Eagle model, the hangar shots are of the third Eagle model.
