Script To Screen

On 22nd July, blue page amendments were produced, ready for filming starting Tuesday 23rd July 1974. This is one reworked page. Alan's line was reworked again before filming (on Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th), becoming "I'll lay you even money finding us is a piece of cake."

CARTER

(in despair)

Every transistor, every condenser.
Not one of them isn't blown.

HELENA

The lightning. It must've
burnt out every circuit in the
ship.

(weak)

We are totally dependent on Alpha
to find us.

HELENA realises this fact can lead only to a loss of
hope. She changes the subject. She looks up at
MORROW's anxious face,

HELENA

Paul, give Alan a hand getting us some
air.

MORROW looks up at HELENA and then down at SANDRA's
unconscious face.

HELENA

(gently)

She's going to be alright.

MORROW squeezes SANDRA's limp hand and releases it.
He stands up and goes to work with CARTER at the door
of the Module.

CARTER

(encouraging)

Look, we came out here with enough
food for a fortnight and there's
thirty gallons of water stashed in
the store. There's twenty-seven
serviceable Eagles and I bet you a
wallaby to a kangaroo they're bouncing
off the deck right now.

MORROW and HELENA grimace at the phraseology but
CARTER's enthusiasm has its effect. He sets to work
with a vengeance hurling debris away from the door.
And MORROW joins in as though possesses.

KOENIG's P.O.V.

As he looks out through the Eagle screens, the landscape
is featureless, covered with finely rippled dust and
quite unbroken.
