Victor Bergman was a fatherly old scientist who was always good for a philosophical word or two during the first season of Space: 1999. The only person I have ever known who was more interesting than Victor is Barry Morse, the actor who portrayed him. Though he is a tad bit repetitive, he tells fascinating stories of his days in the theatre that I could listen to for days.

Today, Barry raises awareness of Parkinson’s disease, to which he lost his wife of sixty years, Sydney Sturgess (he used to affectionally refer to her as “the management”).
