Phil Merkel has a clever wife. Knowing that he would be handing this book to Zienia Merton to sign at the brunch on Sunday, and knowing that Sunday was Phil’s birthday, she hid his birthday card in the book. He handed the book to Zienia to sign on schedule, and the card was found. At least, that’s Phil’s story, and he’s sticking to it.
