DOUBLE POCKET DOOR
STYLE 1 |
SINGLE POCKET DOOR
STYLE |
|
|
Double pocket doors on
Moonbase Alpha can appear either without a lower ledge safety seal (as pictured
above) or with a lower ledge safety seal (as pictured in the single pocket
door style illustrated at right). Even without the safety seal the doors
can be sealed against sudden decompression by means of a magnetic seal built
into the floor underneath the door panels. |
Single pocket doors, just
like their double pocket door counterparts, can appear with or without a
lower ledge safety seal. If the seal is not visible, the doors can be sealed
against atmosphere loss in the same manner noted for their double pocket
door siblings at left. |

DOUBLE POCKET DOOR
STYLE 2 |
SWINGING DOOR STYLE |
|
|
Again, sealed via magnetic
panels built into the floor, this second style of double pocket doors appears
throughout the moon base, generally in Technical labs and Series 2's Power
Room. In the image above, special function Anti-Radiation doors (as seen
in Force of Life) and their regulation signage are illustrated. Found
in Nuclear Generating Facilities and Nuclear Waste Disposal centers, these
doors are red in color, indicating their special radiation shielding capabilities.
Regular doors in this style (without special capabilities) would appear
in standard white throughout the moon base. |
Silver in color and hinged
rather than sliding, the type of door illustrated above represents a security
door found in various locations throughout Moonbase Alpha. Medical Center
Isolation Wards, Technical Section labs, and vital stores units such as
the Protein Store in Testament of Arkadia (illustrated) are a few
of the locations in which this type of door might be used. |

STANDARD DOOR CONTROL |
|
|
|
The image above illustrates
the standard door control used throughout Moonbase Alpha, as well as on
its fleet of Eagles. In addition to acting as a manual supplement to commlock
control for opening, closing, and securing doors, these units have a speaker
at the bottom, and controls for adjusting lights and various atmospheric
conditions within the sealed chamber each unit controls. |
