SERIES 1 SPECIFIC LOCATIONS SIGNAGE
Series 1 locations identification graphics generally
appear in the form of adhesive signs placed on or beside sliding
doors or on corridor walls. In the case of the Nuclear Generating
Area sign, this text appeared on a transparent wall panel in Force
of Life. Countdown is generally the
typeface used for signage text in Series 1, and the sign dimensions
are variable. The Embarkation Point graphic above may be viewed
in Dragon's Domain in the Reception Area, just to the right
of the door to the boarding tube to Launch Pad 4. The Airlock signage
(at North and East entrances to the moon base in the graphics above)
appears in various episodes, most notably End of Eternity,
The Last Enemy, and The Last Sunset. The Technical
Section identification sign above also appears in The Last Sunset.
Some of these graphics may appear in other episodes as well, and
all are representative of the near illegibility of the Countdown
typeface used throughout Space: 1999's first season.
