Honeymoon

They had waited five years, now they were husband and wife, floating though space on a hapless asteroid, and they could not be happier. The wedding had been a festive affair, with nearly everyone in attendance. Alan and Melissa, who had been John's best man and Helena's maid of honor, walked them to his quarters, which they had shared numerous times, now it would be theirs. The base was reveling in the news of a rescue mission, which had only added to the spirit of their wedding. Now they could be alone, at least for the next day.

Due to the unexpected arrival of the rescue mission, their time was being cut short. Helena had agreed to keeping the wedding on, saying that there never would be a good time.

He carried her into the room, kissing her as he set her down to stand next to him. As they parted she looked up into his eyes which smiled down at her. "Happy?" He asked.

"Delirious." She said smiling up at him.

He gently kissed her again.

Neither had been prepared for what had been thrust upon them, five years ago. They had been through so much, fighting to survive but somehow they did. Now, they were together, having "made it legal" as Tony reminded them. Although to the both of them, they had "been legal" almost from the first time they met. John was still perplexed at Helena's sudden changed attitude towards Celeste, but she seemed happy and content.

His thoughts returned to the present and the wonderful day they had just experienced. Their friends and colleagues made the day very special.

They knew each other well, having been together for so long that there was no pretense between them, but they had always tried to keep things new and fresh. He took her hand and led her to the couch. A bottle of wine in a bucket of ice awaited them, two glasses and a note attached. Helena looked at the note, a gift from Melissa; Helena's favorite Chardonnay.

John sat next to her, wrapping his arms around her. "So, Mrs. Koenig, what would you care to do tonight?"

She smiled at her new name. "Mr. Koenig, I thought you'd already have a plan for that."

"Oh, I have an idea or two." He said running his finger down her arm.

They had mutually agreed to abstain from sex for a couple of weeks, prior to the wedding, so they were both a little anxious, John especially, but he didn't want to rush their time together.

He pulled her across his lap. "Shall we start right here." He said looking down at her, then covering her mouth with his for a long kiss.

Her arms went around his neck. He parted from her, looking down at her. "What?" She asked.

"Just looking at my wife." He said seriously.

She smiled up at him. "Have I changed all that much in just a few hours?"

"Not at all, you're just as beautiful as the first time I saw you in London."

"Charmer. Shall we open the wine? It has been a long time since we had any." She said.

"Whatever you like, dear." He said. "Only one problem, we don't have a corkscrew." He said, looking at her.

Helena looked up at him and frowned. She looked at the table where the bottle sat. She spied a corkscrew lying beside the bucket and pointed to it. "Ah, see my sister didn't let us down, again."

He looked at the bucket, not having noticed the corkscrew before. "Well, in that case. I'll pour."

Helena moved to sit beside him as he reached for the bottle. He poured them each a glass and handed her one. He took his and replaced the bottle. He touched his glass to hers and hesitated. He looked at her.

"John?"

He smiled at her. "I was just trying to think of some way to tell you how happy you have made me."

She returned his smile, "I think you just did."

He moved his glass from hers and took a sip. She followed his lead, sipping the woody tasting wine.

"Hmmm, I'd forgotten how much I missed this." She said taking the glass from her lips.

"Great wedding gift."

Helena nodded as she took another sip. Enjoying the sensation as it crossed her tongue, it made her think of home.

They sat back on the couch, John taking her hand in his. The wine brought back many memories to them, memories of their courtship. The times they had spent in Florida, Houston, New Orleans and London, where they had first met. They drank the wine slowly; each lost in their own thoughts.

John got up from the couch where they sat and crossed the room to turn on the stereo. He'd already loaded it with their favorite romantic pieces. As the music began to play, he returned to stand before her. He held out his hand to her. She smiled up at him and took his extended hand. He pulled her into his embrace. As they touched, he kissed her, tasting the wine on her lips. As they parted she smiled looking into those warm blue eyes, which she knew well. He pulled her to him and they began to sway to the music. Helena relaxed into his arms, following his slow movement, with her head against his shoulder. His hands moved up and down her back, slowly, enticingly as they danced. The combination of the wine and the music made Helena a little misty-eyed. She looked up at him as he held her.

"Hey, what's wrong?" He said tilting her chin up toward him.

"Nothing, it's perfect, " she said as a tear escaped the corner of her eye. "Just the way it should be."

"Then why the tears?" He asked as he stopped dancing, taking the tear from her cheek with his thumb.

She shook her head. "I'm happy, John, so happy."

He hugged her tight, laughing lightly. "Remind me not to ask stupid questions."

She smiled against his chest. "Can we just stay here, just like this, forever?"

"Sure, just you, me and the moon."

She pulled away from him and he kissed her forehead. Then he pulled her tight and resumed their dance.

They danced for a long while until John's hands found the zipper of her dress. She wore an off white, sheath dress that Melissa had purchased for her just before she left earth for the rescue mission. He found the zipper and moved it down her back. He moved his hand under the fabric to touch her skin, which sent shivers through her. He moved his hand around her waist, while with the other he pulled the material from her shoulders, kissing her neck as he moved the dress from her shoulders. She shrugged the garment from her shoulders as he slowly moved it down, letting it fall to the floor. He unhooked her bra and moved the straps off her shoulders and it, too, joined her dress. His hands went to her breasts, caressing them gently. She relished his touch.

She wanted tonight to be special for the both of them. She looked up at him, searching those blue eyes that she knew well. "John, with all my heart, I love you." She said. He smiled softly and touched her lips softly with his. "You are the one who stole my heart, Helena." He said moving to kiss her again. She pulled him to her and held him.

She pulled her head from his chest and moved her hands up under his suitcoat, moving it from his shoulders, she then untied his tie, pulling it slowly from his neck. It, too, joined her dress on the floor. She moved down the front of his shirt slowly unbuttoning each button, as his hands moved across her bare back. She pulled the shirt from his pants, pulling it from him. She leaned forward and kissed his bare chest, laying her head against it, hearing his heartbeat. He held her close, breathing in the fragrance of her hair. His hands rested on her waist and he slowly moved a hand underneath her panties, caressing her backside. She smiled against his chest and her hands found his belt and the zipper of his pants. He slowly moved his hands to her hips, and moving his hands underneath the silky garment, pulling it down her legs, planting soft kisses down her legs as he went. She sighed at his gentle touch. She stepped out of them and he stood back in front of her, shedding the rest of his clothing quickly.

With that done he pulled her back to him, holding her. Her hands went around his waist. They stood there for a long moment, enjoying the feel of one another, as it had been weeks since they had last been together. John scooped her up into his arms. He carried her to the bed. He placed her gently on the bed and lay on his side next to her. He ran his finger down her arm and kissed her shoulder. She was watching his eyes in the dim light of the room. "What?" He whispered, noticing her gaze.

"Just looking at the wonderful man I married." She said appreciatively.

He smiled at her and kissed her gently. "I think we should have done this a long time ago."

"We did, if I remember correctly." She said remembering their first time together in London. "You're even better now." She said moving her hand to his chest.

He laughed lightly, smiling at her. "I just know what you like."

"I know." She said caressing his cheek and moving to kiss him.

She pulled him to her, her hands moving around his neck.

He moved his leg between hers and trailed a finger between her breasts down across her stomach, stopping at her belly button. He kissed her neck and nibbled her ear. His hand came back to her breast. He stroked it lightly, then kissed it, bringing the nipple erect as he played his tongue across it.

"That tickles." She said, huskily.

He kissed her deeply, moving his hand down her body to her hip. He eased himself on top of her, moving his hips to her so that he was against her and began a gentle motion. With hands on either side of her, his mouth went to her breasts as he suckled them. She moved her hands to his shoulders. She sighed as he trailed kisses up her neck. He found her mouth and kissed her, his tongue touching hers. "John, "She said softly as he moved against her. He watched her as she closed her eyes and leaned back, enjoying the sensation he was creating. He intensified his movement and Helena took a sharp breath, moaning softly. She moved her hands from his shoulders and pulled his face to hers for a fiery kiss. Helena trembled against him as they kissed and she turned away from him. "Oh John!" She said, needing to catch her breath.

He stopped the motion began kissing her as he working his way down her torso until he was kneeling between her legs. He reached forward and took her hands and pulled her to sit up. "What?" She said looking at him. He readjusted his position so that they were sitting face to face with her legs over his thighs. He moved toward her and entered her. He pulled her to him and they began rocking back and forth, kissing and caressing each other. He kissed her breasts, tickling her nipples with his tongue. She tightened her legs about his waist, as his hands moved up and down her back.

John pulled her to him with a deep moan. "Helena." Their breaths were coming short. Helena was moaning, "Now, John, please." She cried. He shook as he came inside her. Helena continued moving against him, moaning deep in her throat as her orgasm overtook her.

She laid back down on the bed and he moved to lie beside her.

"Worth the wait?" he asked her softly, kissing her ear.

"Mmm huh." She said, without opening her eyes.

"We have all night, you know."

She turned her head and smiled, "And I want to take advantage of every minute."

They held one another, thinking of their time together, their history and now their future. A future that now looked a lot brighter. They now looked forward to the return to Earth.

She leaned to him and kissed him. He pulled her to him pulling her down beside him. As they parted she looked at him. "Do you realize that in a little while, we'll be headed back home." She said.

"Yeah, it's a real miracle." He said

"It'll be nice to see the ocean again. I remember we had some very good times there." She said stroking his chest, remember the time they had spent at her house in Florida.

"So do I."

"Any thoughts on what to do when we get back?" She asked.

"Take a vacation!" He said enthusiastically. "We should have enough vacation time saved up by now." He joked.

She reached up and kissed him. "Where shall we go?" She asked.

"Anywhere, where it can be just you and I," he said, "then we can concentrate on having a baby."

Her eyes went wide. "A baby?" She said softly.

Alpha was not able to support children. Helena had been working hard on that problem, as she knew that her time was growing short, when it came to having children. She had never even thought about having children with Lee, but she had decided that having John's child would be wonderful. They had talked about it on several occasions but had never come to any firm decision, not knowing, if and when, it might become possible.

"I though you wanted to? The way you've been working so hard to outfit life support, I figured it was the next thing for us."

Her hands went to his cheeks, caressing them. "John..." She said softly. "I'd like nothing more than to have your baby, but..."

"But...?" He repeated, looking at her.

"Time John, we're both getting older and time does change us."

"How well I know." He said. "You think we're getting too old to have children?"

"I don't know, I suppose it could happen. I guess I've taken precautions for so long that I'm really not sure what could happen."

He smiled at her understanding her, "Then we'd better practice, just in case," he said covering her mouth with his.

He made love to her again, slowly, lovingly, until they both were fulfilled. During the night, Helena pulled him from the bed, saying something about a shower. He followed, willingly, as he always enjoying their playfulness in the shower. They soaped each other luxuriously; both relaxing underneath the warm spray. They toweled each other dry and John carried Helena back to their bed. There, they slept, each dreaming of home.

John woke finding Helena facing him, her head on her arm. He reached and moved her hair back from her face. She stirred slightly at his touch. He reached and took her left hand and looked at the simple gold band that now graced her finger. The final gift he had received from Victor, his wedding rings. They were simple gold bands, which he and his wife had worn. John had told Helena about the history of the rings and she was touched at Victor's gesture. He did indeed know they were destined to be together.

John kissed her ring and smiled to himself. How lucky he was to have found her. He looked at her sleeping peacefully, thinking of home and what lay in store for them upon their return.

He ran a finger down her arm. She stirred again and opened her eyes slowly.

"Good morning." He said softly.

"Morning." She said stretching, moving her foot against his.

He moved to her and gave her a gentle kiss. Her hands went around his neck and she rolled onto her back, pulling him with her.

"What are you thinking this morning?" He asked looking down at her, seeing a twinkle in her eye.

"I'm thinking my husband needs to make love to his wife again." She said smiling up at him.

He reached to touch her hair. "Spoiled, aren't you." He said.

"It's all your fault, I told you that you ruined me for life."

He remembered her comment from some years ago, after a particularly enjoyable weekend. "So I did, lucky for me."

She shook her head at him, "Shut up and kiss me."

He laughed as he covered her mouth with his, then continued to trail kiss down to her breasts and down her stomach then he settled between her legs. He kissed her softly; spreading her legs a little wider. His tongue played over her, licking and kissing her. Helena's hands gripped the sheets tightly and moaned. "Oh God!" she exclaimed. She began to move against him as he continued his stimulation of her. Her breaths were short and John moved hard against her and she trembled.

He moved from his spot and crawled back over her, kissing her stomach as he moved back to her breasts. He looked at her as she lay there, he eyes closed enjoying his touch. He kissed her breasts pulling at each nipple. He then moved inside her, making her gasp. He began their comfortable rhythm. He kissed her ear and pulled on her earlobe, making her smile.

"I love you." He whispered to her.

She looked up into his blue eyes and her heart melted. "John?"

Her hands moved to his shoulders and her legs went around his. He closed his eyes as he moved above her, moving deeper inside her. She moved with him. His thrusts were coming fast and quick as he reached his climax. She pulled her to him as she trembled against him. He collapsed against her, breathing hard. She held him as they both enjoyed the wave that swept through them. John caught his breath and slipped from her and moved to lie next to her, letting out a sigh as he did.

He took her hand and kissed it. She rolled into his arms and nuzzled his neck. "You think you can do that every morning?" She whispered to him, kissing his earlobe

"I'd be happy to try." He said, laughing lightly.

They laughed together and held each other, knowing neither had to get up anytime soon.

They did eventually they did make the effort to get up, John saying he was hungry. They made it to the bathroom for a mutual shower. Then they dressed, donning their uniforms for a late breakfast or early lunch, whatever they could find in the cafeteria.

They strolled down the corridor, hand in hand, headed for the cafeteria. They ran into few Alphans, as it was the middle of shift. Those, whom they did encounter, gave them a quick nod or a smile. They rounded the corner and entered the cafeteria, which was sparsely populated. They each took plates and selected items to eat. John grabbed a pot of coffee and followed Helena to a table.

He looked across the table at her and gave her a lopsided grin as he poured them each a cup.

"What?" She asked at his amused look.

"I figured Alan would have a pool going on when we came up for air."

Helena laughed. "I have a feeling Alan may be similarly engaged."

John nodded as he put the cup to his lips. "Lucky man."

John put the cup down and swallowed. "Hey, is it me or does this stuff taste different?"

Helena took a cautious sip and smiled. "Real coffee." She said taking a larger sip. "How wonderful!"

"Melissa strikes again!" He said.

"Leave it to my sister. I wonder what else she's got up her sleeve?" Helena mused.

"I'm sure we'll soon find out." He pointed to the door. "Look who's here." As Alan and Melissa walked through the door, arm in arm.

Alan spotted them right away and moved in their direction.

"Well, well, look who's out and about, the Commander and the Mrs."

John laughed at his description.

Melissa sat next to Helena, "So was it worth the wait?"

"I would say so." She replied taking John's hand across the table. "So what have you two been up too?"

Melissa nudged her sister, "Same thing you two have."

Helena laughed lightly. "Mel."

"Hey John, Tony's got a meeting called for this afternoon to begin planning our trip home. That is if you think you'll be available." He said with a wink at Helena.

"He'll be there Alan, I guarantee it!" Helena said.

John squeezed her hand as he held it. "Oh I will, will I?"

Helena smiled. "I have to let you go back to work sometime, don't I?"

Melissa looked up at Alan, "What time is that anyway?"

"Three o'clock sharp." Alan replied.

"What time is it now?" Helena said, having lost all track of time.

"My, we have been busy, haven't we." Melissa said.

Helena gave her sister a smile.

"It's almost one-thirty, Helena." Alan said with a grin.

"Oh."

John gave her hand a tug. "Shall we?" He said.

"What about our lunch?" She said.

"Alan, hand me a tray, will ya." John said standing beside the table.

Melissa stood beside Alan as he handed John a tray. Helena quickly placed their plates on the tray. "Don't forget the coffee." John said.

Helena stood beside Melissa. "Thanks for the coffee, Mel, it's great."

"Well, I know what a terror you can be, without your cuppa."

"Thanks a lot." Helena retorted, giving her sister a friendly slap on the shoulder.

John picked up the tray looking at Alan and Melissa. "You forget, we're on our Honeymoon, we can be a little late."

Alan smiled as John moved off with Helena falling into step beside him.

They returned to their quarters and on the couch they finished their lunch, in each other's arms.
