Subject: Bringing back oneshot characters

All this discussion about Simmonds has gotten me thinking...I'd like to
put this question to the list: which characters (aliens or non-regular
Alphan crew) would you have liked to have reappear in more than the one
episode they did appear in?

I've always thought that Dorzak from the Second Season episode of the same name should've reappeared in a Third Season of S1999, if it had ever been produced. The same could be said for Balor, from First Season's "End of Eternity". Heck, why not have 'em both come back in the same two-part episode! Wouldn't that be a challenge for our plucky Alphans...

Offhand, Lou Picard and Annette Fraser from "The Metamorph" -- though since Picard died on camera it's a bit difficult. All the interesting ones died: Kelly in "Space Brain," Mateo in "The Troubled Spirit," Cellini in "Dragon's Domain." I also liked Anna Davis and Luke Ferro in "Testament of Arkadia." One I don't want to see is that Irish cowboy from "All that Glisters" -- too forced or over the top in my opinion. How about you Deborah, which would you like to see again? Robert

I think it would be interesting to bring Dionne back in Season II (even though she died in Season 1) or even Vana (who was left intact) to see how it would affect J. Koenig and H. Russell's relationship, as well as Tony and Maya's considering my perception of Tony being a ladies man. Also concerning Vana, it would be interesting to wonder if after being in command for over two years at that point, given the opportunity again - would John Koenig this time decide to stay and forget about the responsibility after having held it for so long. Other possibilities could include: Another possibility is to bring Arra back sporadically. She knew the Alphan's future in Collision Course - could she help guide them or direct them. The Darian ship is a possibility. They were still alive when last seen. They were technologically more advanced in some areas, yet backwards in others. Would the "elite" group seek vengence on the Alphans since if it weren't for the Alphans - Naman would still be alive and their gene bank intact. Back to lurking (Thank goodness it's Friday - I actually had a few minutes to read some of my mail!). Jeanette Quimby

Since he and Koenig obviously have a history, it might've been nice to explore their relationship before his death. Besides Bergman, he may have acted as occasional council for our beleaguered Commander. Anna and Luke too would have been welcome. As people who, in the space of an hour, underwent an almost religious conversion, it might have been nice to know them better before-hand. Were there ever ANY recurring alien races (other than Psychons?) Richie

(Hint: I am neither serious, nor ridiculing Jeanette's ideas). I would like to see Koenig having more nightmares about those bogeymen whom Vana's father Raan sent to attack him. Those bogeymen ruled! > Another possibility is to bring Arra back sporadically. She knew the > Alphan's future in Collision Course - could she help guide or direct them. Sort of like the Great Gazoo from "The Flintstones" ? Every week, she appears, and calls the Alphans "Dumb-Dumbs" ? (Check out the Flintstones site at: http://www.chickasaw.com/~cchamber/flipic.html) Or maybe she could be a nicer version of Q from ST-TNG ? Q's Auntie Arra ? > The Darian ship is a possibility. Those 13 "true Darians" would have been exterminated by those hoary mutant survivors. Such a small minority would have long since been eliminated in some Darian version of "The Final Solution". The ship ran on automatic, (somehow ?) so it would be supreme irony that Neman's mad schemes to keep his race "genetically pure" came to an absolute end when the mutants inherit the new Daria, and worship Koenig, Alan, and Helena as gods instead of Neman. She knew the >Alphan's future in Collision Course - could she help guide them or direct >them. That's a great idea!! She could communicate through either Koenig or Carter. Maybe her contact with Koenig could spear another "Mutiney on the Moonbase" themed episode, only with a little more depth to it, and a real challenger to Koenig's leadership. .

Yes, he did make Morrow seem warm and cuddly by comparison...but that's the great thing about him. He was absolutely expressionless. Couldn't you see him and Carter getting into some really great arguments? Arguments are so much more effective when one person is hopping mad and the other doesn't even raise his voice. Winters shows up in other episodes in the first year, passing out files and the like, but if WE could choose a replacement for Morrow in the second season, instead of having one thrust upon us (i.e. Tony) I'd vote for Winters. Carolyn Powell - the psychopath from The Lambda Factor - is another I'd like to see. Seems like she had an attitude even before the squiggly telepathy-enhancing thing came on the scene, stealing her roommate's beau and all. She could be a thorn in peoples' sides now and then. -PTS.

I'd like to know how the work he'd been doing with Dr Linden/Queller carried on after Queller took out those Sidons, and how that incident affected him. Season two: Dave O'Reilly from "All That Glisters". The concept of an Irish cowboy (with a wavering accent at that! :-) ) fascinates me - I'd love to see how that developed, and whether he had any success in his woman chasing. He was absolutely expressionless. Interesting choice. Since that was on this weekend, I noticed some new things about him. I always really disliked him, then I realized he was just reading lines written for Paul (When I was ten, I didn't understand stuff like that). I think my dislike came from the way he ordered others about and challenged Alan when he'd just come out of left field. Actually, the line about "execution of a hostage" would be more chilling if they'd established him a little better as someone we could trust. Makes you think -- why didn't they just give his lines to Sandra or Kano? Still, I can see why you'd like to see him again. He's obviously someone Koenig trusts, so why not see more of him? > Carolyn Powell - the psychopath from The Lambda Factor - is another > I'd like to see. Seems like she had an attitude even before the Definitely. I always liked Carolyn. She obviously enjoyed being a bitch. It would have been interesting to see her "re-educated." My own vote goes to Shermeen Williams, on whom I had a tremendous crush when I was twelve and "Matter of Balance" aired (or erred, as the case may be). Silly plot, but I liked her.

Triggered another thread (maybe I should call this sequence a 'chain' instead?) on chain of command.
