           "No", Leroy Nilsson said. "Our past relationship

           "But, Leroy. . ."
           "I ask you again, Leigh:  Do you want to become 
        my wife?" Again Leigh Anderson shook her head, 
        more energetically than last time. 
        	"No, I won't do that " she answered. "Leroy. . . "
        	Nilsson did not let her speak any further. 
        "Then I'm sorry" he said brusquely. "We have nothing 
        else to say to each other. Good-bye, Leigh! " 
           He let her picture on the screen disappear. 
           Then he knelt down in the middle in the room, 
        folded his hands and spoke: "Almighty God, I was 
        a sinful, corrupted human. From now on, however, 
        I vow. . . "

           Concentrating, Doctor Helena Russell slid the 
        Medi-Scanner over the thigh of her female patient.
           She smiled. "It's looking good, Ellen", she 
        said, pleased, "very good even. The foreign muscle 
        tissue has integrated itself magnificently. In the 
        meantime, the anti-bodies have accepted it and no 
        longer fight against it. With some discretion, 
        nothing more can go wrong. Perhaps again in
