Enjoy!

Hello Alphans! Ben Page here to tell you a little bit about The Space 1999 Show (it’s about time right?). The Space 1999 Show is an animated vidcast (or series of videos distributed via the internet) that is set within and sometimes around the continuity of 1970s space opera TV show, Space 1999. This show is completely free to all and is fan produced.
At this particular time, I do everything myself. And I mean everything. It is however, a situation I would love to remedy. Volunteers welcome on Moonbase Alpha! I got the idea after downloading a certain podcast (The Starship Exeter Podcast) and realizing that I could do something to that scale, or beyond. Originally, the show was intended to be a radio show featuring interviews with Space 1999 cast and crew, but I quickly realized how impossible that was. I shifted in my thinking and decided to do a sort of Muppet Show/Mystery Science Theater 3000 thing called The Kong Show starring none other then King Kong himself.
Then one Tuesday, I opened iMovie, intending to create episode one of Kong, and what came out was something completely different. The Space 1999 Show, in it’s current incarnation, is sarcastic look at both Space 1999 and the BBC World News. I beg of my viewers not to take the show to seriously! It is all in fun and is submitted purely for your amusement.
That Tuesday was last Tuesday and the rough cut was just wrapped today! Episode One is hosted by Commissioner Simmons and features a review of a Space 1999 DVD, an interview with John Koening, clips from The Alpha Archive and more!
The Space 1999 Show was created on an Apple Computer (iMac) and used the following applications in it’s creation.

DVD Player (clip viewing)
iMovie HD (editing, titles and much much more)
Mac the Ripper (VOB ripping)
FFMpegX (file conversion)
VLC (screen captures)
iPhoto (screen capture library)
iTunes (distribution)
Safari (communication with the outside world)
Adobe Photoshop (painting, titles, a few effects)
Adobe Image Ready (one failed test shot)

Enjoy the show!
